A New Career in Nursing

The Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing's Graduate Entry Nursing Program is your gateway to the exciting, challenging, and fulfilling field of nursing.

The Graduate Entry Nursing Program is for students who are ready for a career in nursing and to receive a Master of Nursing degree. This graduate degree prepares students for practice as an advanced generalist registered nurse and to lead interprofessional, evidence-based initiatives.

The Master of Nursing degree also allows you to pursue an MSNDNPPhD, or DNP/PhD degree.


Graduate Entry Nursing Program Highlights

  • The Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing has offered post-baccalaureate, graduate entry nursing education since 1979

  • MN students have over 1,000 hours of clinical experiences

  • Our students earn up to 15 credits toward most MSN majors

  • Student have the opportunity to volunteer in the CWRU Student Run Free Clinic to receive interprofessional learning experiences

  • Our students routinely pass above the national average on the NCLEX, the RN licensure exam

  • Teaching and learning strategies are geared to the unique learning needs of individuals entering nursing at the graduate level

  • As part of Case Western Reserve University, Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing is both a research-intensive environment and a leader in clinical education

  • MN students fulfill their clinical hours at prominent health care organizations and world-class hospitals, including University Hospitals Case Medical Center, the Cleveland Clinic, MetroHealth Medical Center and the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center.
